The Hodson Family have been servicing and restoring classic road cars and preparing historic race cars in Twyford, Leicestershire, for over 35 years. Barry (proprietor Richards father) purchased the house and outbuildings in the late 70′s to work as a one man band on the restoration of classic cars, over the past 35 years the business has grown from those humble one man beginnings to the family focused team operating from the same expanded site today.

At SMDG our ethos for Ferrari and classic car restoration is to achieve perfection and to the level that we would expect if the car as if it was one of our personal vehicles. As a result of many restorations over the years we have the skills and experience to produce the finest possible finished article. 

Since being founded in 1983, we have come to be recognised as one of the world’s leading suppliers of Ferrari parts. Our passion and commitment has ensured that we have expanded enormously over the decades, coming to stock parts for everything from the 250 through to the California. As Ferrari enthusiasts, we know how hard it can be to find the top-quality products that these cars require. Therefore, we work closely with expert and reliable manufacturers to develop outstanding uprated parts based upon OE specifications whilst utilising higher grade material and superior modern production methods. This allows us to improve upon currently available parts of inferior quality, or to reintroduce those parts which had previously become unavailable.
