Chassis No. WP0AC2996VS375685 Engine No. 61V01688 By the mid-1990s, Porscheâs 911 Turbo became a bedroom wall poster icon with the tagline âKills bugs fast,â defining the 993-generation in Arena Red Metallic as the ultimate 1990s sports car. This final air-cooled 911 Turbo incorporated technology from the 959 supercar, featuring all-wheel drive, twin-turbocharging, hollow-spoke wheels, ABS brakes, and a six-speed manual transmission. It boasted a widened stance, a body-color rear wing housing a large intercooler, and a zero to 60 mph time of 4.4 secondsâthough some tests hit 60 in a breathtaking 3.9 seconds. Produced in January 1997, this Arena Red Metallic 911 Turbo was sold on 27 March via Walterâs Porsche of Riverside, California with a sticker price just into the six-figure range. While the price may have been relatively high for the era, Turbos were very well-equipped with a full leather interior, rear window wiper, Hi-Fi Sound system with 10 speakers, on-board computer system, power seats, and more. This 911 Turbo is certainly reflective of the high standard specification as it is optioned with a few well-selected extras that included Digital Sound Package, Wheel Caps with Colored Crest, and a Becker Remote CD Changer. According to the clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report and stamps in its original service book, the car remained in California until 2004. It was then acquired by a new owner based in Virginia with just over 17,000 miles. Since then, it has been retained in the Mid-Atlantic region and received extensive servicing and attention to detail, in large part by the well-known shop Intersport Performance out of Ashburn, Virginia. Some of these highlights include a complete transmission overhaul in 2020 and a full repaint in 2021 including all necessary seals and trim to enhance its cosmetic presence. Later in 2021, fresh Continental tires were installed, along with an alignment with new sway bar links, a tune-up that included an oil change with new filters, spark plugs, and belts, with new brake rotors and pads installed front and rear, a ceramic coating, and PPF applied. Furthermore, in 2023, Intersport performed an extensive engine reseal including crankshaft seal, a recharge of the AC system, a brake fluid flush, and a full detail all covered in the extensive history file online and available for review. Offered with just over 39,000 miles at the time of cataloging, this prime example of Porscheâs final air-cooled Turbo includes original delivery items such as its books, jack, trunk-mounted spare, and tools.
