Porsche's design team, led by Tony Lapine, drew inspiration from the 356 Speedster while utilizing the contemporary 3.2 Carrera chassis. The concept, unveiled as the Speedster Studie, captivated audiences with its sleek silhouette rendered in Pearlescent White Metallic, featuring a rakish windscreen and the now-iconic double-hump tonneau cover. Following its well-received debut at the 1987 Frankfurt Motor Show, the production Speedster arrived in 1989, coinciding with the 911's 25th anniversary and the conclusion of the G-Series generation.
