Boasting a production run of just 1,500 units, the 996 Turbo S came at the very end of the 996 production cycle in 2005 and was given the full house treatment of options. The engine was essentially the same as the standard Turbo but was fitted with VarioCam Plus, a further development of the familiar VarioCam system, which changes both the intake camshaft timing (by as much as 25°) as well as the intake valve lift. Bigger turbos from the X50 Powerkit were fitted boosting output to 450bhp and the car's top speed broke through that magic 300kmh barrier, with a maximum of 190mph (307kmh) placing it firmly in supercar territory. PCCB Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes were fitted to the 'S' as standard.
Our vendor purchased this Guards Red Turbo S from the Roland Hall dealership in Gerrard's Cross, Buckinghamshire with only delivery mileage recorded and since then it has formed part of his large private Collection and been serviced by RW Autos of London SE1. In recent years, the Porsche has been stored at Roger Bennington's Stratton Motor Company and has covered just over 15,000 miles from new. Offered with its original book pack (including service booklet), original tools and its V5C, this beautiful Turbo S represents a rare opportunity to acquire one of these exclusive, last-of-the-line Type 996 models that can only become increasingly collectable.
