As the final iteration of the iconic 356 series, the 356C Cabriolet represents the culmination of decades of refinement and innovation by Porsche. It marked the peak of the 356's development, featuring enhancements in performance, comfort, and style that solidified its reputation as a timeless classic. This 356 Cabriolet was completely restored in the late 80’s and finished in the early 1990’s by Porsche expert Dennis Frick of Europa Macchina of Lewisberry, PA. The interior was outsourced to Autos International who restored the full leather upholstery, installed a Hartz top and tonneau, and correct German wool loop pile carpet. Since its restoration the 356C has been used sparingly and has been the winner of many awards and concours, including a national first from the Antique Automobile Club of America. The car has remained under the current owner for the past 11 years, only taking it out to feature in popular shows and concours near and around the Bay Area. With the current owner possessing multiple Porsche’s such as a 356 Roadster, as well as a 1969 Porsche 912, this 356 Cabriolet was passionately cared for throughout its ownership. This 356 was meticulously looked after, as the previous owner stated, “I think I was a car in my past life, so I’m going to take the best care of my cars in this life”. The car won 2nd in class at Carmel-By-The-Sea Concours in 2013 and 2014 during Monterey Car Week, along with 2nd in class at the Werks Reunion in 2014. NUMBERS-MATCHING, the engine and transmission are original to the car and chassis number stampings can be found on the inner doorframes, the front hood hinge, and rear engine lid. Date stamps on the wheels, window frames and other parts are correct. The car comes equipped with an original Blaupunkt radio, and comes with its owner’s manual, jack, and full tool kit with Messko tire gauge. With all numbers matching components, this 356 is purely original. Upon arrival at Canepa, every collector car for sale is put through an extensive and diligent process called the “Canepa Difference.” This includes a major and comprehensive mechanical inspection where all systems are checked, serviced, and restored as needed. They also receive award-winning Concours-level detailing, including a thorough cleaning of each and every surface.
