With the immense demand for the 911 R, Porsche saw the opportunity to bring this concept into mass production with the 911 GT3 Touring in 2017. Based on the revamped 991.2 platform, this version of the GT3 brought back the manual transmission, combined with an impressive 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine.
In the second generation, built on the 992 platform, the latest 911 GT3 Touring retains the same engine as its predecessor, but features a double wishbone front suspension, similar to that of the RSR race car. This makes the front axle twice as stiff as that of the first generation, without sacrificing ride comfort thanks to improved body control. The 992 generation of the GT3 once again proves that the 911 gets better every year through incremental improvements, which is a typical characteristic of Porsche. Additionally, Porsche traditionally offers an almost endless array of customization and personalization options, beautifully showcased in this example.
